What do you do at New City?
I am working in the discipleship program with a small group of teens who help plan and lead worship services for teenagers. I also provide extra academic support for the teen employees. I help out with Community Time and tutoring during After School Center.
What’s so special about New City?
I love watching the teens work as tutors and teachers for the younger kids. It is evident that the younger kids look up to the teens as role models, and I love watching the teens take up that role. The teens are such a talented and creative bunch; it is a joy to work with them and watch them grow into mature, confident young adults.
Favorite Books
The Brothers K by David James Duncan
My Name is Asher Lev by Chaim Potok
The Irresistible Revolution by Shane Claiborne
Favorite Foods
I love many different kinds of food, but perhaps most particularly the cuisines of India, Thailand, and Italy.
What do you do in your free time?
Read, write, play music, go camping, ride my bicycle, and cook.
I hope to someday:
Open up a coffee house.
Things I’m thankful for:
My family and friends, good food to eat, good music to listen to, fine coffee to drink, conversation with good friends, and random interactions with folks on the bus.
My most embarrassing moment was:
Mistaking a glass wall for an open door on my first day of high school.
When I grow up, I want to be:
A rock star.
Life’s greatest lesson I’ve learned is:
All of life is learning to love.
Fun fears:
Spiders
Most amazing fact about me:
I once dyed my hair red.
I’ll never try:
Olives. They're gross.
What is your desire for New City?
My desire for New City is for it to be a place where children and teenagers can grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ, and where they feel loved, cared for, encouraged, and challenged.
If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
I'm a mix of Owl, Golden Retriever, and Koala
What’s your favorite scripture?
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your path straight."
What are three things in your refrigerator?
Soy sauce, Raspberry Preserves, French Vanilla Yogurt
What keeps you working?
The Lord. And coffee, which was created by the Lord, so really just the Lord.
What is life really all about for you?
Learning to love.
What’s in your CD player?

"In Rainbows" by Radiohead. And "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" by Wilco. And "Punch" by Punch Brothers.
